FAQs

This depends heavily on the design we create. The design is based on your hopes and dreams for the landscape, and on making sure it fits within any budget goals set at the beginning of the design process. You get to be part of the process and help guide project costs as we go. We will help you understand your choices and how they affect the budget.
-
No, the proposal covers design only. We do not offer design/build costs as a combined proposal, because until the design is complete we can’t know the full scope of installation. We also like to use the design process to build a relationship with our clients. Our goal is long-term trust, so that we can take you through design, build, and future maintenance of your landscape with our teams.
-
Our design/build timelines often run 12 to 18 months. We discuss this during our initial conversations so you understand the overall process and the timeline for each stage of design and build.
-
Installation time depends on the size and complexity of the scope. Some projects are installed in phases, while others are done all at once. Some take a few weeks, others a few months or longer. With a phased approach, we work with you to decide what should come first and where we can pause, so your site is never left unusable while you wait to trigger the next phase. We will discuss the expected installation time during our planning meetings.
-
All of our designs are built by our own employees. We only sub out work we are not licensed to do, such as irrigation, concrete, or anything like an exterior door change.
-
Very involved. We start by asking for any information you have on what you’d like to change or add, as well as what is working well and should carry into the new landscape. We also meet with you on site multiple times to present preliminary plans and gather your feedback on each element, so the final landscape meets your needs and hopes.

Design is a set price. A small deposit secures your place in our design queue, and the remainder is split into a preliminary plan presentation payment and a final master plan presentation payment. For installation, we require a 10% deposit at contract signing, 40% at the start of the install, and the remaining 50% at the end, after a final walkthrough. For larger projects, we start with the 10% deposit at signing, followed by progress payments as specific elements of the installation are completed.
